Bringing Cricket to the NHS
The ECB is keen to work with large employers like the NHS to make choosing cricket easy, we want to do this because we want more people playing cricket regularly in teams.
Keen to ensure that cricket is accessible to all NHS staff and that everyone feels confident about playing, there are a number of different ways that you can get involved.
For new players or those who haven’t played for a while there are lots of ideas at www.ecb.co.uk/easycricket which are fun and easy to play games that can be played with minimal equipment and in any space or time and rules and games can be adapted to meet the needs of the players. All you will need is a bat and a ball and someone to get you organised and act as the Cricket Activator. Please visit the website for lots more ideas.
For those of you who have a bit more experience, but may have lapsed recently due to time restraints Last Man Stands is for you. It is an exciting global 8 a side T20 Cricket tournament. Last Man Stands cater for teams of all abilities. You don’t need your own cricket ground to enter a local LMS league. Every player receives a world batting and bowling ranking. Every team is given a team world ranking. There are regional, national and world championship tournaments for teams looking to test themselves (on and off the field) against teams from other cities and countries. To find out more and to register as a team or individual please visit www.lastmanstands.com How to get involved?
Take a look at the website links provided and see which option might be best for you and your colleagues. You can also contact your local county cricket board for more information about what opportunities exist locally for you to get involved in http://www.ecb.co.uk/development/get-into-cricket/development-structure-and-contacts/
